Job Title: Education and Outreach Coordinator
Reports To: Program Director
Location: Harold’s House – Lufkin, TX
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Program Director, this position serves a dual role: Community Education and Marketing & Content Creation. The coordinator will facilitate outreach, training, and education for children, parents, and professionals on child abuse prevention and reporting, while also leading the agency’s marketing efforts and content development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community Education:
- Establish and maintain relationships with schools, daycares, universities, and community organizations to deliver child abuse prevention education.
- Facilitate parenting classes and youth education programs using approved curricula.
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers for education initiatives.
- Coordinate and deliver presentations and trainings to professionals and community groups.
- Organize and implement Child Abuse Prevention Month activities.
- Marketing & Content Creation
- Develop and implement a strategic marketing plan to promote Harold’s House programs and events.
- Create engaging content for social media, newsletters, website, and print materials.
- Manage the agency’s social media accounts and maintain consistent branding.
- Design promotional materials for outreach, fundraising, and educational campaigns.
- Capture and edit photos/videos for use in digital and print media.
- Track engagement metrics and adjust strategies to improve outreach effectiveness.
- Collaborate with staff to highlight success stories and impact narratives.
OTHER DUTIES:
- Participate in all fundraising and community events.
- Provide support to staff and clients as needed.
- Travel for rural services, conferences, and trainings.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, marketing, social work, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- Experience in public speaking, community outreach, and digital marketing.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
- Ability to pass criminal history and CPS registry checks.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
SPECIAL ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Experience working with diverse populations and high-risk families.
- Knowledge of child abuse dynamics and reporting procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
- Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Spark) is a plus.
